Parish Council Meeting of 17th December 2015
The Parish Council meeting on 17th December 2015 was attended by Councillors Brian Frith, Beverley Humphreys, Jackie Bowers, Dawn Welsby, Graham Gale and Andrew Coleman. Also present were District Councillor Barry Duffin and 25 members of the public.
Some of the main items discussed at the meeting are mentioned here. Full minutes of the meeting are available here - in draft form until agreed by the Council at the next meeting (21st January 2016).
The following planning applications were discussed:
- 2015 / 2550 – Hope Valley, Low Common Road, Great Moulton - Change of use to a mix of single gypsy and traveller residential pitch, garden and vehicle parking area and paddock for the keeping and breeding of horses. After some discussion it was resolved that this application should be opposed for very similar reasons to 2015/1673, and that the Clerk should submit comments to South Norfolk Council to that effect.
Concern was expressed that some drivers seemed to be parking inconsiderately in the area of the school at opening and closing times. The Clerk was asked to contact the Police to ask them to put in some appearances to advise and, if necessary, take action against offenders.
The SAM2 speed awareness ('flashing light') device had been delivered and installed. Phil Whiscombe had agreed to be coordinator of the team of volunteers, and a brief report was given of the data collected over a couple of weeks.
John Wilde, Footpath Warden, had reported some damage to footpaths by horses and this problem was being investigated with Norfolk CC and 'Ramblers'.
The next meeting will be on Thursday 21st January 2016. The agenda will be published about a week before the meeting, but if you have any matters to bring to the attention of the Parish Council in the meantime, please contact the clerk, Anne Rayner, on 01508 570700 or by email
