Spring Walk

Saturday, 29 April 2023 13:30 – 16:00
Forncett St Peter Church
Forncett Nature Matters

Join us for a leisurely Spring Walk along part of the Tas valley setting off promptly at 1:30pm. The walk will be led by our in-house professional ecologists, Simon and Sarah, who will help us identify species of flora and fauna that we see or hear.  We will be walking along footpaths and quiet roads, ending up at Forncett Village Hall for tea, cake and scones aferwards.  Lifts back to St Peter's to re-join your car will be provided.  Or just come for tea at 3pm!

Meet at St Peter’s Church - please park in the church car park or by the school on Aslacton Road after the yellow zig zags.
We will walk down the school track to the water meadows, over the river, then follow the Tas Valley footpath branching off towards St Mary’s Church, and ending at the Village Hall at around 3pm where free refreshments, including homemade cake, will be waiting.
A donation to help cover the cost of the hall would be most appreciated.
Accompanied children are most welcome to join us.
On this occasion the organisers respectfully request that  no dogs accompany us. We shall be walking through a field where in-calf cows are grazing.
Importantly, you will need to wear good waterproof boots or wellies. The footpath goes through a farmyard which is always extremely muddy!
If you’re not feeling up to the walk itself, you are welcome to join us in the village hall from 3pm onwards. We have to be tidied up and out of the hall before the next booking at 4:30pm.

For those people who will have left their car at St Peter’s, we will run a ‘taxi’ service back there.
