The Art of MiniBeasts 2024
August saw a fascinating range of creative children's activities in the Village Hall. Snails slithered around a bucket, coming up onto the rim to intrigue our young artists as Andy Jarret, our visiting artist, helped the chilkdren enjoy these mini-beasts. Dragonflies were created and introduced to a mini-pond; animal pictures were matched in pairs in an absorbing game; lovely prints were made, animal masks painted and outside you could go wild with poster paints and print blocks.
As always refreshments for everyone were scrumptious and varied. Numbers of children were down from our similar event last year - there were several other family-friendly events around the area on that day - so we'll think about our plans for 2025. Everyone who came had a great time and went hone with beautiful creations. Creativity is a lovely way to develop children's fascination with nature. We want to nuture the next generation of young nature lovers.
Thanks to Andy, everyone who led our creative activities and those who provided help and support. We are especially grateful to our refreshments team, who did a great job. Thank you!
Please join us at Forncett Village Hall and the adjoining Jubilee Green for a creative workshop suitable for children of nursery and primary ages. No need to book. Drop in and out any time between 10am and 1pm. It’s free of charge and refreshments for children and carers will be provided. (Donations are always very welcome but not obligatory).
Creative activities on wildlife themes will be provided by experienced leaders in the Village Hall with some outside activities, weather permitting. Carers are responsible for their children’s well-being and safety. Providing an old shirt is a good idea to cover up children’s clothes for painting, using clay, etc. If it’s hot please also bring sunscreen and a sun hat. We have a gazebo for shelter but if it’s very wet and windy or chilly all the activities will be in the Village Hall.
We are still being vigilant about transmission of Covid 19 so if any member of your household has any symptoms please do not attend this event.
Also, please note that no dogs are allowed on this occasion. Thank you.
