Parish Council Meeting of 19th December 2013

Present at the meeting on 19th December were councillors Brian Frith, Beverley Humphreys, Jackie Bowers, Terry Henderson, Gilly Barnes, David Peacock and clerk Anne Rayner. Also present were District Councillor Bob McClenning and six members of the public.

Planning applications considered were: 

2013/1981 :New grain dryer / store at Cornerhouse Farm, Long Stratton Rd, Forncett St P. Councillors recommended approval.

2013/2030 : Land North West of Somerset Farm, Station Rd, Forncett St P.  This application is for an agricultural dwelling to provide on-site accommodation for persons tending livestock on site. Councillors recommended for approval, subject to all the criteria relating to this type of application.

A request had been received for a donation for Norfolk Citizens Advice Bureau. This is a cause that has been supported by the parish council in the past, as a free service, available to all parishioners. Councillors unanimously agreed to make a donation of £25.

There was discussion about the maintenance of public footpaths and responsibilities of landowners, the County Council and members of the public.

It was agreed that, having received assurances that the Village Hall Committee is nearing agreement on the long awaited improvements to the outside area, the full £15000 promised by the Parish Council in 2010 would be made available to the Village Hall.

There was also agreement to proceed with the process of contacting the Land Registry with the aim of registering Parish Council owned lands.  Following this it was hoped that there could a formal ‘handing over’ of ‘Jubilee Green’ to the Village Hall Management Committee.
